Every year, Minnesota Wing hosts multiple events for cadets: an encampment, a wing conference, and Minnesota Leadership Academy (MLA). Encampment and the wing conference already occurred this year, but MLA is on October 20-24. It is held at Camp Ripley, MN, and its goal is to enrich cadets’ lives. This year, we have two cadets staffing; Lieutenant Colonel Ekstrand is the Non-Commissioned Officer School (NCOS) commander, and I (Lieutenant Menk) am a Regional Cadet Leadership School (RCLS) seminar leader. We hope to have other cadets from our squadron attend this event as students because this event is very influential to cadet careers. Since St. Croix squadron had eight new cadets since the beginning of the year, many cadets can benefit from Airman Training School (ATS), but all cadets can benefit from their respective schools. Overall, I look forward to this great Minnesota Wing event.
