CAP performs 95{a8fc60e7c50ef162980899a54ed01881874bb95295c118c0a055ec12755c580a} of the inland search and rescue activities tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center in the United States. About 100 lives each year are saved through the volunteer work of CAP.

CAP also provides transportation and communications support for disaster relief operations. We fly disaster relief officials to remote locations, and support disaster relief organizations with manpower and other needed resources. Disaster relief missions can also involve air surveillance of disaster areas and air evacuation of the stranded, sick, and injured.

Emergency services personnel are divided into three areas: Air Branch, Ground Branch, and Mission Base Staff.

Each area has its specific purpose and is used to perform emergency services missions for America.
