Procedures: 

  1. The purpose of the Boards and Committees are to review all available facts and relevant documentation and then forward their recommendation to the Commander.
  2. All Boards and Committees shall convene at least once per calendar year but recommend that they convene a minimum of once a quarter or time by time as may be required. The exception to this schedule is the Grievance Board that must comply with the timing IAW CAPR 123-2* to expediently resolve each issue that may come before them.
  3. To constitute a quorum, at a minimum the Chair or Vice Chair and the required functions IAW CAP Regulations must be present.
  4. Meetings can be formal or informal.
  5. A report must be forwarded to the Squadron Commander within one week of the meeting date. This report can be formal or informal as circumstances dictate but the Squadron Commander may require a written report of the Board or Committees recommendation.
  6. The Squadron Commander will have the sole responsibility and authority to accept or reject any and all recommendations or forward any issue to a higher echelon, except as required by the applicable CAP Regulation as outlined above for each Board or Committee.

 

First Quarter Requirements – In the first Quarter of the new year, each Squadron is responsible for making sure we conduct the mandatory Equal Opportunity training, Safety Down Day, and ORM training.

These are all accountable in the IG inspection.

ES Resources Update – Per Minnesota Wing Director of Emergency, Maj Tom Fitzhenry, please go into the MN Wing Intranet page and update STX’s MN Wing ES Resource List.

You will find this under Restricted Applications: ES – Unit Resource List.

NOTE: This needs to be done every six (6) months. MNWG looks at this to determine Squadron of the Year, so please take the time to complete it.

March 2018 Self STX Subordinate Unit Inspection Due – Project Officer, Lt Col David Yost.

Organize Storage Closet(s) – Project Officers, SM Tami Ekstrand, SM Patrick Kookier, and Maj Megan Schroeder. Additional coat racks planned.

Assistant Finance Officer – 2Lt Jen Jara in training with Maj Missy Slater.

Scholarship Spreadsheet Due – All Squadrons and Cadet Programs must reply by 15 January 2018 with a copy of your 2017 scholarship spreadsheet. If your Squadron did not give any scholarships note it on the spreadsheet. No scholarships issued in 2017. E-mail them to gsupan@mncap.org.

The above request is for the calendar year 2017. Scholarships can be to either Cadets or Seniors.

If the total amount given to any member is $600.00 or over for the year a Federal W-9 must be either on file or filled out and sent to me. For Cadets be sure the name on the W-9 is the Cadets name.

Submit on blank spreadsheet. Be sure and fill in the Squadron name and number or state Cadet Programs.

      1. Reporting Mishaps, What are you supposed to report
      2. Any damage to the aircraft must be reported, a complete pre-flight and post-flight is critical
      3. Anything the impacts the aircraft while it is moving is considered a mishap

      5. Cadets fainting  – good hydration and nutrition before you get to a meeting. Start a call down list to make sure you are proper hydrated prior to a physical event
      6. When there is a guest, assign a wingman to that guest to make sure they are not injured while attending a CAP activity
      7. Pilot was flying a sortie, cadet was feeling air sick, Pilot needed to get the plane down, came in hot, braked and caused 2 flat tired. Take your time and fly around.
